Andy Espinoza
Here’s a first for me, an artist I discovered through Instagram…
I can’t tell you much about Andy Espinoza, except he does some lovely drawings. I only wish there were more images on his website.

Daniel Enkaoua
Daniel Enkaoua is a French painter, whose work makes me think of a cross between the Spanish realists like Antonio Lopez Garcia and the expressive mark making of someone like Ann Gale.

Peter Wileman
I seem to be most drawn to landscapes at the moment, so I’ve been looking at the work of Peter Wileman. He’s the president of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He’s one of a host of painters around who are strongly influenced by Edward Seago. There are a lot of strong almost exaggerated colour effects in his work, but personally I prefer the paintings with a more natural palette.

Marc Dalessio
Marc Dalessio is an American landscape painter working in Europe. I’ve long admired the decisive and precise colour mixing in his work, with which he is able to capture the light. Somehow he conveys very clearly what it felt like to be in a particular place – the temperature, the humidity, the quality of light, the time of day, and ultimately the mood.
His website, which functions as a blog, is well worth following.

Thank you
So I abandoned this blog when life got hectic, but I happened to check it today and found that a lot of people view and follow it. More in fact than when I was regularly updating. So thank you for looking and following, I hope to continue posting artists of interest

…and we’re back!
Apologies for the long break. I had to priorities other commitments for a while. I’m encouraged and grateful that so many people still come here despite the lack of recent updates. I shall continue to post more artists, and I’ll probably write less, allowing this to be a simple repository of noteworthy contemporary artists. Hopefully it’s not overly biased towards my own taste, though I will only post artists whose work I find in some way compelling or inspiring.
