…and we’re back!

Filed under: Uncategorized — thehiddenplace @ 2:11 pm

Apologies for the long break.  I had to priorities other commitments for a while.  I’m encouraged and grateful that so many people still come here despite the lack of recent updates.  I shall continue to post more artists, and I’ll probably write less, allowing this to be a simple repository of noteworthy contemporary artists.  Hopefully it’s not overly biased towards my own taste, though I will only post artists whose work I find in some way compelling  or inspiring.

  3. It’s a great source od encouragement to me. As a figuative painter ones somtimes feels in a void, between the art which is published in ‘serious’ art magazines (of which I feel less and less part) and the amateur art club/enthusiast magazine, that rarely shows anything that interesting, and often shown hackneyed overused motifs. What I love about your blog is finding meore people like me, trying to make figurative painting that has something to say and has passion, integrity and visual inventiveness.

If it wasn’t for you I wouln’t have discovered Alex Kanevsky! PS have you looked at Sophie Jodoin yet?
